Description:
Since 2000, FCT Flame has been designing and manufacturing cauldrons for well recognised sports events around the world. We have provided the Olympic cauldron for the Summer Olympics, Winter Olympics, Youth Games such as the Pan American games, the Universiade, the Asian Games, the World of the Pan-Arab Games, the Asian Beach Games, and the Southeast Asian Games.
We apply our technical expertise, rich knowledge in meeting the specifications for major events to provide a spectacular, safe and reliable cauldron.
We also work very closely with the art and technical director of each event to ensure that the flames meet the artistic vision, as well as the safety requirements with the event producer and local safety and gas departments. Our equipment and deign comply with the most stringent specifications, and our engineers and on site personnel are experienced in the safety and approval assessment process.
In most cases, the scale model of the burner is made accordingly to the structure of the cauldron so that we can simulate its operating environment with our equipment to test the burner prior to it being delivered. We can simulate wine and rain to ensure that the burner system can be ignited under the most demanding conditions, while ensuring that the cauldron and nearby structures will not be damaged.
We also have indoor computational fluid dynamics (CFD) experts who simulate the flame in the stadium to predict the thermal load and track the exhaust plume (including carbon monoxide) to ensure the safety during the operation of the flame.
The cauldron designed by FCT can use natural gas or LPG (propane/butane) mixture. Each fuel has its own combustion characteristics, and the burner must be optimised for a specific fuel to ensure clean combustion and minimise smoke and carbon monoxide emissions. Remember to pay special attention to the flames colour and that it is as bright as possible! The visual effect of the flame is essential for artistic activities.
FCT cooperates with local fuel suppliers (pipeline natural gas or bottled LPG) to coordinate the supply of gas in the burner system valve. We provide additional gas channels in our gas valves to ensure that the flame cannot be extinguished if a single component were to fail. We also provide a redundant ignition system, where the control system is designed to ensure that the main flame continues to operate as long as there is an ignition source. This is a proven theory accepted by many natural gas agencies around the world.
We also provide air valves, control systems, burners, interconnecting hoses and on site installation, and carry out debugging. During events, we closely monitor the operations 24/7 and we can also provide assistance with designing and manufacturing the supporting structure for the cauldron. Our complete set of services gives our customers a peace of mind.
Our reputation and experience in this area is second to none. Please contact us to discuss your cauldron project.
Example: 2000 Sydney Olympics and 2004 Athens Olympics.
